Nyeek is a social get together for board game enthusiasts in the New York City area. If that sounds kind of geeky let me assure you that it absolutely is. We play all types of board games (abstract, party, thematic), but we tend to lean towards Euro Games. Games that usually have simple rules, relatively short playing times, and no player elimination, so they’re pretty accessible to newcomers. There are so few places where we as gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders can meet each other in person outside of bars.  We've found that it's much easier to meet friends and partners in an environment that is fun doing an activity that isn't focused on meeting new people.  You can just sit down with us and play an old favorite game or learn a new one.  We tend toward strategy games, but word games and party games are welcome.

We are dedicated to playing board and card games and having fun. Games vary from classics like: Monopoly or Scrabble to Card based games like: Hearts or Euchre to german style games like: Carcassonne or Settlers to Wargaming ones like: Risk, Diplomacy, Axis and Allies, depending on who brought what and what people want to play.
